Summer's Over: Bring on the Fall

The official first day of autumn in Metro Toledo came this weekend. The end of summer is sad for some. Those of us who don't look forward to the cold winter months seem to make the signal end of summertime more than it is. We tend to skip the whole fall season. Bif mistake. Fall is cool, not cold, and the changing colors of the trees, the respite from, what this past summer was a string of brutally hot days, the start of highschool and college football and trips to the corn maze are just a few of the things I look forward to this time of year.

Navy Week, pictured above, was a terrific chance to get out and see downtown Toledo and the Maumee riverfront. The crowds were terrific. It was one of the best things I've seen downtown in years. Seeing those crowds in and around International Park, right across Cherry Street from the still vacant Marina District, made me want to scream for the folks involved over there to get off their asses and get something going.

Summer 2012 was great. Fall will be too. Enjoy.

Metro Toledo supports Susan G Komen Foundation

Metro Toledo has had a rough time of it, economically for the last few years. It's been tough for individuals and businesses. But we find ways to help. I got a press release a few days ago from my friends, the Pontius family, at Toledo Auto Care.

They are getting ready for one of their many company fund raisers for local charities and I wanted to pass it on to the community here at My Metro Toledo. If you can help, please do so.
